With the primary purpose of providing affordable housing for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, Pemulwuy consists of 62 properties – 36 town houses and 26 apartments, plus underground car parking for 115 cars.
The affordable housing design is based on the award winning AHC Social Plan by Dr Angie Pitts.
In 2001 the AHC received an award for the Social Plan from the National Awards for Excellence in Community Housing.
In 2004 the AHC Social plan by Dr Pitts was awarded an innovation award by the International Security Management and Crime Prevention Institute.
